The skilled worker stream can speed up the process for skilled workers that have a permanent full time job offer from a local employer, which includes current market rates and a benefits package that meets provincial standards.

For employers that own a family business and are looking to hire close relatives those have a skill that cannot be found locally can apply under the family business worker stream.  The employer must be an established local business that will guarantee a permanent job offer to the skilled worker.  Employers that are interested in speeding up the process can provide additional support to the relative to immigrate and settle in Nova Scotia.

What is known as the community stream is mainly for those that are well connected to the Nova Scotia community and can be an addition to the job market and economy of that specific community.  Those that already have a letter of acknowledgement from a Nova Scotia recognized community by the office of immigration can apply to be nominees.
